Imagica Audiovisual is significantly expanding its areas of activity, with a renewed and expanded focus on Independent Production and Culture .
Driven by the exceptional international results of the Short Documentary "Átimo" (Spark) , released in 2022 and recognized globally through more than 30 international awards at festivals in the United States, France, India, Canada, Turkey and even countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, South Korea and Nepal (see the map below), Imagica is now also focusing on transforming the experience into new business models.
The film's latest award ceremony, which took place at the Cannes 7th Art Awards on May 22nd, at an event that is part of the Marché du Film, one of the largest and most important film markets in the world, brought a winning project to a close and opened up new possibilities for business models that we want to share with you.

These new models aim to:
Enable COMPANIES , whether they are already clients or not, to explore media possibilities through sponsorship or support for films and cultural events that discuss relevant themes and/or are connected to their target audience, helping with Branding and humanizing the brand in a transnational way;
Contribute to regional Cultural and Audiovisual training, offering PUBLIC AUTHORITIES such as City Halls , especially in medium-sized cities, cultural events such as International Festivals and Audiovisual Workshops, which enable the national and international exchange of themes, styles and ideas, through different formats and cinematographic genres;
Expand the offer of PRODUCTS such as Documentaries and cinematographic projects, to companies such as Streamings, TV Channels, Audiovisual Distributors and large Film Production Companies.
What is the Marché du Film and its Role in the Cannes Film Festival
The Marché du Film is one of the largest and most important film markets in the world, held annually during the Cannes Film Festival, which this year presented its 77th Edition.
Founded in 1959, the "Marché" offers a unique platform for film industry professionals to meet, negotiate and promote their projects. At the Marché du Film, producers, distributors, buyers and sellers of films from around the world have the opportunity to explore new collaborations, discuss industry trends and secure distribution for their works.

The Cannes Film Festival, renowned for its glamour and prestige, is one of the world’s most important film events. It celebrates excellence in cinema through a series of screenings and awards. The Marché du Film, held alongside the festival, plays a crucial role in complementing the artistic celebration with the commercial dimension of cinema, facilitating the commercial transactions that allow these films to be distributed and seen globally. This synergy between art and commerce makes Cannes a focal point for the global film industry.
The Cannes 7th Art Awards and the Recognition of "Spark" (Átimo)
Among the various film festivals held in Cannes, the Cannes 7th Art Awards stands out for being a partner of the Marché du Film, and was created to recognize talent through the selection and awarding of SHORT FILMS made around the world. Although it shares the same city and during the same period, the C7AA is not an integral part of the Cannes Festival.
After a career with dozens of international awards around the world, "Spark (Átimo)", directed by Beto Sporkens, was invited to participate in the festival, entered the Official Selection and ended up being awarded as Best Documentary Short.
This recognition not only highlights the quality of the complex storytelling present in the work, but also places Imagica Audiovisual on the international scene.
ÁTIMO (SPARK) is an expository documentary (we will soon make a post about the sub-genres of documentaries), with a very low budget, which ended up "surfing" very unusual trends in Brazil, mixing History of Science, Philosophy and Theory of Relativity, highlighting the impacts that the invention of the atomic bomb brought to the world .
It is worth remembering that the film was released and received its first awards more than 1 year before the premiere of “Oppenheimer”, by Christopher Nollan, with which it shares part of the theme and which was one of the biggest hits of 2023.
The director also became, at the invitation of the FILM INDEPENDENT organization, a voter in the prestigious FILM INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS , one of the most important awards in Independent Cinema, which has even revealed several Oscar- winning works in recent years.
The Marché du Film, in synergy with the Cannes Film Festival, continues to be a global epicentre for the film industry, where art and commerce meet.
The recognition of "Spark" (Átimo) at the Cannes 7th Art Awards is a testament to the talent and vision of Beto Sporkens and Imagica Audiovisual in addressing relevant global issues.
With the expansion of its activities and new projects on the horizon, the production company is ready to continue participating in the cultural and cinematographic panorama with its high-quality productions.

WHAT'S COMING NEXT

FESTIVALS
Inspired by the incredible social impact that Tourism and Culture resources from a film festival can bring to a city, we are starting to organize INTERNATIONAL short film festivals for City Halls.
Driven by the immense network of contacts and audiovisual work that we are having with different parts of the world through participation in festivals, we are already working to bring short films of the highest quality, many of which have already won awards, for screenings in Brazil.
An edition is already scheduled to be held this year in a large city in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region; and we are developing a pilot for another itinerant festival in the interior of São Paulo. More details soon!

NEW MOVIES
Through Notices such as those of the Paulo Gustavo Law, we have developed short and feature-length documentary projects.
For example, the short film "Por Onde Andou Moleque Tião" (alongside), based on the childhood and youth of actor Grande Otelo, which is due to premiere in mid-2025; the feature-length documentary "Timeline", which explores the evolution of our relationship with Time, from Relativity to Covid-19; and "Eco Hubs Brasil", a web series about successful Brazilian projects involving technology and sustainability.
There are also plans for a web series on Political Science and a feature-length documentary on the Missing Persons, as well as a short science fiction film with humor and surrealist touches to be filmed in Campinas (called "Aurora"), which should help boost new talent and promote connections with major international festivals.
Átimo, the short documentary that gave rise to all these developments, is also on its way to being licensed globally.

Well, that's it. The next few months promise to be quite busy.
If you or your company are interested in linking your brand to a short film of cultural value for the international market, get in touch and request a presentation of the projects, which can be Sponsored AT ZERO COST through laws that encourage Culture.
